The next morning we caught a red double-decker bus to London Bridge, which we were all really excited about.
We then walked along the river down to the Tate Modern art gallery. Tink and Veronica in particular were very excited to being seeing some of the artwork that they had studied at art during school. We spent a few hours (and a few pounds in the gift shop) there, and then made our way to Buckingham Palace. We entertained ourselves there, taking photos of the guard marching around, of ourselves through the fence, and then caught a bus to Oxford St.
After Madame Tussauds closed we made our way back to Chris', went to a house party with some of his new London friends and then to a bar in Brixton (which we found out later is a 'dodgy' area), and then to another club somewhere else in London. We got back to Chris' at about 5 in the morning, all went to bed and woke up at a leisurely hour the next morning. Poor Chris was already at work by the time we got up.
We then had to say goodbye to Veronica, so she could catch her plane back to Germany, and caught the train back to Leeds.
All in all, had the best weekend! So nice to catch up with friends we hadn't seen in ages, and explore London. It's a beautiful city, and I can't wait to go back and see what else it has to offer.
Just got a few lectures and tutorials in the next few weeks, then its on to Dublin for a weekend, and Amsterdam a few weekends after that. Can't Wait! x
