Unique sleeping style on the train from Leeds to London.
After spending just two nights in our new home in Leeds (one of which included Veronica and Tink having to sleep head-to-toe in one of our tiny singly beds), we decided to head to London for the weekend to stay with Chris. After having not seen him for months, it was very exciting to be reunited, especially on the other side of the world! After our stressful evening getting from Leeds to London (apparently have to book buses?) we were all exhausted, so after getting back to Chris' house, and having a quick tour we headed to bed. Chris' house is lovely. It has 3 floors, really nice living spaces and a big backyard, very different to the squishy little houses I had imagined.

The next morning we caught a red double-decker bus to London Bridge, which we were all really excited about.
In front of the huge London Eye.
We then walked towards the 'London Eye' which is a huge ferris-wheel type thing, that takes about half an hour and can be seen from allover London. Unfortunately, when we arrived we found out it was closed. We took a few photos to make it LOOK like maybe we'd been on it, and decided that the 24 pounds could be better spent on shopping on Oxford St later anyway.

We then walked along the river down to the Tate Modern art gallery. Tink and Veronica in particular were very excited to being seeing some of the artwork that they had studied at art during school. We spent a few hours (and a few pounds in the gift shop) there, and then made our way to Buckingham Palace. We entertained ourselves there, taking photos of the guard marching around, of ourselves through the fence, and then caught a bus to Oxford St.
At Madame Toussades. Showing Johnny Wilkinson what I think of his stupid stance.
We rushed straight to H and M, and made the most of our few sweet minutes left to shop, and then quickly went to Madame Toussads in time for the 5 pm half price entry. We took hundreds of photos with movie stars, sports stars and politicians, not all of which were entirely politically correct (veronica!.. ok and me. But Johnny Wilkinson asked for it with that stance, especially after an English guy working there brought up the Rugby World Cup).
After Madame Tussauds closed we made our way back to Chris', went to a house party with some of his new London friends and then to a bar in Brixton (which we found out later is a 'dodgy' area), and then to another club somewhere else in London. We got back to Chris' at about 5 in the morning, all went to bed and woke up at a leisurely hour the next morning. Poor Chris was already at work by the time we got up.
We then had to say goodbye to Veronica, so she could catch her plane back to Germany, and caught the train back to Leeds.
All in all, had the best weekend! So nice to catch up with friends we hadn't seen in ages, and explore London. It's a beautiful city, and I can't wait to go back and see what else it has to offer.
Just got a few lectures and tutorials in the next few weeks, then its on to Dublin for a weekend, and Amsterdam a few weekends after that. Can't Wait! x
