The Androscoggin River in Brunswick, Maine

From exit 17 I stayed on Coastal One to enjoy the scenic route through Freeport along what was truly the "home" stretch.  To offer training for an adequate period of time, I had arranged to work virtual Monday & Tuesday and decided to book a hotel with wifi rather than crash with friends (the usual accommodation for these sojourns).  Successfully utilized Hot Wire once again to score lodging at a ridiculously cheap rate ($36 per night) and checked in at the America’s Best Value Inn in Brunswick early that afternoon (review below).

Some friends had alerted me that there was a terrific music show scheduled that evening at the Chocolate Church in Bath, so I had a few hours to kill before show time rolled around and finally got to check out the Androscoggin River Bicycle &
Pedestrian Path.  This quality paved trail skirts the mighty Androscoggin and has been around for some time, but it was built after we moved away (fifteen years ago) and every time I skirt past it on Route 1, I think “gee, I need to check that out”.  Well, today I finally did and have reviewed it, below.
