Leaving Boston...Finally :)

It was a relief and feeling of excitement when I left my apartment this morning.  Since I wanted to use my vacation days to the max, I had to work until 5:30pm.  I planned on taking a cab to the airport, but alas, all were busy, and I had no cell phone with me to call one.  So I headed to 'T' (subway in Boston)  But if I had taken a cab I would have never had my crazy street encounter.  A guy walking past me remarked that I looked like I was heading off to climb Mt Kilimanjaro.  How true his remark was!  I was laughing all the way to the airport.  I could hardly keep still.  I was finally going! I called home really quick to say goodbye and boarded British Airways to London.  It was so different than Delta.  (I'm a non-rev brat on Delta)  The service was superb and the food great.  I know, who would think airplane food tastes good.  I slept almost the whole time except to eat of course
My second leg from London to Nairobi was pretty boring.  I was seated next to an old couple visiting their daughter in Nairobi.  The lady was nice but kept changing my t.v controls!  I can't watch a movie if she keeps changing the channel.
I was a little nervous when I arrived after all the warnings given, but it was fine.  The airport had a band playing and locals clapping like those passengers emerging were celebrities.  I emerged first since it only took me a few minutes to get my visa.  I waved and my fans...ok not really but it was really fun!
I took a taxi to the Hotel Parkside, but they were full b/c of UNEP arriving that day.  I ended up finding a hotel called "Downtown".  Not exactly the cleanest but very quiet and I was only sleeping for few hours before going on to Tanzania
