Some sightseeing in New Orleans
This day belongs to Mardi Gras, but I add some info to this blog, because I was able to do some sightseeing in New Orleans.
It was Lundi Gras and people took it easy during the day, so some friends decided to take me to do some sightseeing downtown. We went to Riverwalk in front of the Mississippi. It's a nice mall with a nice view. I have already been there once, and a mall is a mall all over the world. We focused on the Plaza Espana. I was surprised to find a square with the name in Spanish. It was because this square, was a gift from the Spanish Goverment. It's a nice plaza, where people meet and children play. I arrived there with Missy and we were just hanging out there until Lacey and Addie met us. They were coming from the other side of the river with the ferry.
The only way to cross the river avoiding the chaos of the traffic. We had something to eat at the mall and then: Daiquiris and started walking and getting in the mood for the Festival. I was amazed by the way they served the Daiquiris here. I haven't seen that before, hahaha. They were tasty, yummy!!!!
We kept on walking, enjoying the live music and the whole atmosphere. There were people selling food and antiques. Finally we ended up in Jackson Square. I saw the famous Jax Brewery, took some pictures and we were walking in the French Market. I saw St. Louis Cathedral and the Cabildo (City Hall).
The Jackson Square was full. We could see a lot of people sitting on the stairs of Decatur St. The day was nice, not so warm and not cool either. I saw so many people wearing customs and wanted to get one too, but instead of that I got my face painted ;) I had to be in the mood for MG. The guy asked me how do I want my face and I just told him: You are the artist!" I think he did a pretty good job.
We were just walking around the French Quarter, went to the famous Pat O'Briens, but was full. Try with the Court of the 2 sisters, but was full too. Anyway, I have already been there before. Finally, we went to a nice restaurant, just to get some Margarita's and get started for the party time at night.
All the party stuff belongs to MG blog, :)
The atmosphere is great. Of course it's full of tourist, but it's great. You can also keep the glass as souvenier. I packed it really carefully, so I have a nice glass at home now. The Hurricane can be sweet, but it can be pretty strong too, so be careful.
You will enjoy the patio and its tables. The fire fountain is great. There are always standing people waiting for empty seats.
This is one of those things that you just have to do to have a full New Orleans experience.

But I can say that I like the atmosphere, the balconies were amazing and the staff was friendly too.
If you are walking around the French Quarter and want to take a drink, this is a good option.
