A Quick Layover

Gloomy winter weather in Atlanta

In looking over my blog, I realized it looked as if we flew straight from Columbus, Ohio to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.  Not the case!  Our stop in Atlanta, though short, was memorable!  That day, Atlanta was having a winter storm with snow, freezing rain, sleet, and cold temperatures!  Most flights were being cancelled or delayed.  Our trek through the terminals was aided by the trains which run every few minutes from terminal to terminal.  One could also use the moving sidewalks, but not us as we had to go from one end to the other.  All boards stated our flight to Santo Domingo was "on time."

Again, Delta boarded by zones, and was completed in a relatively short time.  After passing through the de-icing station, we were off close to our scheduled departure.  Landing in Santo Domingo - temperatures in the 80s, sunny, and hot..................!!!!!!

Isn't it wonderful to board a plane in freezing, wet weather and to walk out of your destination airport into warm sunshine and perfectly clear skies? Heavenly:)
