up untill now, traveling on the trains has been pretty good. everything is signposted, and the people at the station speak enough english to get by on. but now that we have crossed into hungary, thats all out the window.
we first notice this when we pull into an unmarked trainstation. over the pa comes an anouncement, that seems to be all one word, no pauses or full stops to speak of. after about 10mins some train guy starts yelling at us, we have no idea what hes on about. eventually we figure out he wants us to get off and move up the train so they can remove the last 3 sections, so we move up. and the train continues for about 5 mins and then stops half covering a road, causing traffic to back up.

eventually we make it to budapest, the first thing we are hit by is the heat, and humidity, and the people asking if we want a taxi.
we make it to our hotel, which is pretty damn good for just a 3 star. its called the star hotel, on Istavan st. its modern and we get seperate rooms with a 32 inch lcd tv 52 channels not bad at all. but the neighborhood that its in is pretty rough.

Merrik our guide takes us to a resturant that night, and its absolutly delicious!! its just a non descript cafe/resturant on a corner 10mins from our hotel. it costs me 7500 florint for a main, a beer, an ice tea and a desert and a couple of shots of some hungarian spirit. which with the exchange rate is only about $30nz
