For what it's worth...
I would like to consider this the longest vacation away from home of my life. Sure... it wasn't a boarding school or some study abroad program, but it gave me a memorable experience that I'll never forget. As I finish up my remaining requirements at the University of California Riverside, I can definitely say that it was one heck of a vacation. Of course there were responsibilities, heartbreaks, and struggles... but this is one vacation away from home that I can say was the best. I made a lot of friends... lost a lot of friends.... and learned very valuable lessons.
Everybody that's been through it says that these years would be the best years of your life. Unfortunately, I've been struggling through real life working and trying to make end's meat to pay the rent and other utilities. Without that monkey on my back, I would say that it probably could have been the best years. As my simmering college experience comes to an end, I'll say that I would definitely do it all over again if I could. Sure this may not be the vacation that most of you usually take, but for me... I consider it the best getaway a man could ever have.
