Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Tuvalu, Kiribati, Samoa, Tonga, Vanuatu, New Caledonia, Tahiti, Easter Island and Chile... After a long time of thinking about it, I finally decided to make my own round the world trip. Since I have a fascination with everything that has to do with the Pacific, me and my best friend chose a score of small islands there to visit... It all happened between October 17th and December 19th, 2008. This is my story about that trip...

Well, haven’t updated this blog in a while, mainly because there hasn’t been any news to speak of. Until now that is…

Earlier this week we received the confirmation that all flights can be confirmed and we’re therefore ready to start looking for accommodations and things we want to see and do.

For the people who are interested, here’s our current schedule:

17 Oct. - departure

18 Oct. - arrival Sydney

18-27 Oct. - Australia (Sydney – Brisbane and in between)

27-31 Oct. – Nauru

01-04 Nov. – Kiribati

04-11 Nov. – Fiji

11-14 Nov. – Tuvalu

14-15 Nov. – Fiji

15-18 Nov. – Samoa

19-22 Nov. – Fiji

22-25 Nov. – Tonga

25-27 Nov. – Fiji

27 Nov-03 Dec. – Vanuatu

03-05 Dec. – New Caledonia

04-07 Dec. – Tahiti (no, that’s not a typo in the dates, we’re crossing the date line eastwards and therefore have the chance to redo Dec. 04^th…)

07-13 Dec. – Easter Island

13-15 Dec. – Chile

15 Dec. – returning home

16 Dec. – arriving home

It’s going to be something else, it’ll be the first time for me leaving Europe. At the moment I’m already feeling the exhilaration even though it’s still more than six months away… Can’t wait!
