The Stayokey Hostel in the Vondelpark!
The traveling, the first faces and the Stayokey Hostel!
I had vised Amsterdam by train and it was very busy in the train. I left Leeuwarden at 08.

45 AM and afther a few hours I came in Amsterdam at 11.00 AM. Nienke, Ket and Marloes were waiting for me on the train trainstation were my train stopped! I was realy so exited to meet them! At first we wentto the Stayokey hostel were I stayed for two nights to drop some havy bags and I checked in out there in the morning, but could get in the room afther 14.00 uur! I was waiting in the hale and I met there Ante, Mandy, Stefan and Devika. They were in Amsterdam sinds friday and went out already.... Afther I had put my bags in the safe we went to go to the '9 straatjes' for lunch and for some shop that I first had planned with Marloes and Nienke....Jeff had my number and we should meet him for lunch already! I had also plans for lunch with Wayne, 2win and someone else!

During our long walk Jeff called me with many questions.
The Travman and Rafhke!
..were to meet and stuff.... I don,t know my way in Amsterdam that much and Ket did so he had helped me out the sweatheart! It was a long walk to the 9 straatjes and it was hard to find a place were we could sat together! We were with a group of nine people and it was al small and busy.... We stopped by the restaurant Called Goodies! It was very busy so we couldn' t sit all together. I sat on the table with Marloes, Ante and Nienke! Devika, Ket, Mandy and Stafan sat on a other table , but they had not real enjoyed there lunch... I had Salmon and it was good.....It took long for the waitres to help us, but it was very busy! During the lunch Ket was talking over the foon with Jeff and we met him afther the lunch....Devika, Mandy and Stefan went there own way had to go back for the meetpoint at 15.00!
It was around 13.30 so we went to some stores! At first we went for some shoestores.....Marloes is realy a bigg shoe fan....Afther a few stores we split up and I went shopping with Nienke for the last hour! It was great to have that girl around me and I was glad that we had some time together, because she could not enjoy us for diner at Humpreys! She is a sweetie! The others I had meet during the diner etc. During our short shop, Humpreys had called me grrrrrrrrrrr! He wanted to know how many people a realy comming, because it,s going to be busy! I sayd that I will call him back afther 1600 and then I will more! The shopping was to short and during are shop we went our way in the Kalverstraat.

The koffiehuis nearby the Trainstation!
We went to the koffiehuis nearby the trainstation around 15.30 were we met the other people from TB! We were the first one in the koffiehuis and later on we met Travnet and he had some for me, the sweetie for helping out Devika! Some candyrocks from Drente (drense kiezelstenen)! Later on the rest came in and we went to a prive place were we had met eachother! It was so great meeting everybody there, but I was to busy with my diner Humpreyslist.....I had to call him at 16.00 and let him know how many people are realy 100% comming! Devika had helped me out and she was really a sweetie to.....In the koffiehuis I talked a lot with Raphke and her friend Sanne! Nienke was with me and had to leave soon! We stayed at the koffiehuis till 17.30.....I wich Nienke was with us for diner (Snik)......We had a few drinks and I realy was impressed of everything around me! The people all look the same like on TB, only a few don,t.

.....It was realy funny and I wich I had sat on more table when I think about it now! Before we left the koffiehouse two waiters took many group pictures of us......It was so funny...like 15 camera,s on the table......
Diner at Humpreys!
We went to Humpreys Restaurant later on, because we had the reservation at 18.00 a, clock....It was realy a bigg restaurant and it was very nice insite! There were three table were around 10 people could sat. Everybody was talking around, taking pictures and it was great...I had some great talk weet a few like Alex.....He had already bigg plans for the next meet-up.

..heyhey....I talked with Eef about South Africa during diner.....I had not enough time to talk to everybody.....(Snik)..I talked with Mell, very sweet guy and he sat beside me......Alex also nearby.....Sometimes I walked from the table to talk with others......The diner was very good and I eat the Capaccio first, then the Mixed grill....as dessert I had someting wih pere, vanille icecream and chocoladesaus...very jummmmmie!
There was a moment that Vosking was standing and called Devika and me! I was very qiet and she had had two tropys for us.......That was so sweet of here to think about that.....I felt very special that moment.....I got a strange feeling when everybody took a pictures at ones of me and Devika! I felt realy a celeberty for a moment whooooooooo! I did not know what to say!!! That was so great and impressive! The paying went very well to and Alex had helped me out with that! I was glad that everybody had there 30 euro with them, it made it a lot easier! We had also money left and we used it for the bar for a drink for everybody

We walk to a Irisch cafe, but we were with a bigg group so we could not get in.

...Afther a walk we went to the Spot....It was a nice bare and very qiet.....Nice! At first I talked with Travman about me going to South Africa and my travelplans.....Anouk, Sonja and Hanie etc, were standing with me and it was great talking with them about my plans......Ill will find my way and want to go to South Africa for sure.....Tevman was a very sweet man and willing to help me out! They gave me all good advice......I was so great talking about it, because these people have all experience with traveling! I walked around the bar and I know that I had not enough time to talk with everybody....I was a litle choat....hihi.....I wich we had more time.....I did not talked a lot with Wayne, 2win and Lauro for example and many more! When I think back I had talked more with the international people (Snik)! For sure I had a wonderful time and enjoyed every moment! I also had some talk with Sylvie about Antwerpen and life! She is a sweetie, always smiling at people. .....very happy.....During the evening people had to leave and some people I did not had the change to say goodby! I had a short talk with Atiyah and she is from Groningen...heyhey......I vised Groningen a lot! The group was getting smaller! I was tired, but I knew a few was going out......I said to Atiyah that we will get home together, but I lost her!

I went to the hostel with a few and the rest went to a Pancake Corner at the Leidserstraat! Devika, Ket, Mell and a few others walked with me! I had to bring some thing back and I changes my mind I wanted to go with them to a cafe.

.....First we went tom Sylvie, Jeff, Kim (Latinlover) and a few others....Whoooo they were eating food and were already hungry..hihi....I waited for them....Mandy, Ket, Devika and a few others were looking for a nice place during that time! Travnet, Bmaterial and Stefan were also with us!
Cafe the News!
We went insite the news and it was also in the Leidsterstraat nearby the Pancake Corner! It was 1.30 in the morning hihi....It wa very busy, but I felt like dancing....In the club were Sylvie, Kim, Stefan, Jeff, Ket, Devika, Mandy, Travnet, BMaterial, Mell and me I think..The music was great and we all danced.

I was glad I went with the group, because I was not planing to make it late.....Travnet showd off some moves, it was great to see.......Later on that evening a few of us went back home! I left before 4 a clock with Jeff.....The cafe was nearby my hostel in the Vondelpark! I had some drink again and the atmosfeer was great!

When I came back in the hostel, it was very qiet,......In the room hihi with 20 girls I was the only one up.....I had to be very quiet.....pffff that was hard, because I had to go up on top of the double bed.

....I did not had the change to made my bed hihi...so I had to do it at night! It was al in plastic.....I lay down in bed like 4 aclock......I had a terrible night....a sleep, awake, a sleep, awake......at 7 a girl came up to me and said "I have a cilly, stuped question.....uuuuuhmmmm, Could you lay stil in your bed......I was thinking "ooooh my god"! That not posible, but I tryed to be more careful....She was sleeping under me! The hostel itself was very good and cheap! I had think a lot that night....It went to fast...whooooooooooo! I had already great memeries that night!
Humphreys AMSTERDAM, LEEUWARDEN AUGUST 2008!
During the Meet-up in Amsterdam we had diner at Humpreys restaurant! At the front at the building it looked very small, but when we walked insite.....whoooooooo! What a space....The Humpreys in Amsterdam can place more then 200 persons at ones! There are smoke and non- smoke spaces!
The restaurant had a warm atmoshere and I liked it a lot....You will pay 21.50,- for a starter, a meancourse and dessert...Off each on you can pick one of 5 or 6 kinds of different things! There isalways something for the meat, fishlover and the vegatarians. The menucard will change every month....
My experience during the diner in Amsterdam was great...We did not waited at all and it was very yummmmie!.....These restaurants are all over the Netherlands! For example in in Amersfoort, Rotterdam, Groningen, Utrecht, Arnhem, Den Haag, Tilburg, Apeldoorn and Leeuwarden were I have worked at for two years from 2000 till 2002 during my study! I had a nice time out there and the college were very nice! 17 years ago the first Humpreys restaurant in Nijmegen has open his doors....
You can pay contant, pin, visa, Eurocard/ visacard and American Expres....The best way is to reserve the diner first (specialy in the weekends), because it,s a very busy restaurant then! The parkingplace for the car is at "the de klok" in Amsterdam.
I realy had a wonderful time out there during my stay in Amsterdam...I also had diner in Groningen and Leeuwarden! See for more location the Humpreys website!
