I want to live here
June 9, 2007
Wexford is a quaint Irish Seaside town with a warf plenty of places to shop and eat. We stayed at Abbey House Bed and Breakfast on Abby street and we were greeted by Goergiana who was the best Hostest in the world. She asked Tina what she liked for breakfast the day before and she wasn't sure so Gorgiana said I will surprise you in the morning. Tina Pigge dout in the morning on some Irish porage, Goergiana Husband cooked most the food and georgiana served. Abbey house is right in downtown Wexford so you can walk everywhere within 10-15 minutes. The main shopping street was closed off to traffic so you could shop without worrying about traffic (check out our Pictures) there was at least 500 plus shops. There were a few pubs, Mary's Bar which is on You tube and the Sky and Ground which also has food upstairs. The train from Dublin also arrived in downtown in the evening so I guess if you flew into Dublin you could take the train here. But I recomend you get a rental car to go outside wexford the transportation system is nil. Wexford also served as our outpost visiting Hookhead about 15 miles away, JFK arbatorium, Irish Heritage park and we were about 10 minutes form Rosslare Ferry port which is where we got on the Stennis Express Ferry (Vomit Comit) to Wales and they also had a rental car drop off there. There is alot of rich history in wexford and well worth the visit

Abbey House B&B
What a wonderfull jewel hid in Downtown Wexford, Georgiana the hostess and her husband cooked up the best Breakfast, Eggs, Sausage, Oatmeal, Cereal, Coffee, Tea or milk. You can walk to anywhere in Wexford from the B&B. We had our choice of rooms I believe she had 13 rooms. Great for a week or over night. Easy out of town by car or walk to the train station.
Abbey House B&B has the distinction of having part of the original stone wall of the town as part of the structure of the house - there were five walls in total, this is the only one that survives. The wall was used in the time of the High Kings to prevent enemies from attacking the centre
of Wexford Town.
Abbey House Bed & Breakfast accommodation is a 3-storey townhouse, situated right in the middle of the historical town of Wexford, a few minutes' walk from the Wexford train & bus station.
A 1 minute walk from Wexford's main street. This hosts a variety of shops and restaurants for all to choose from. You will be spoiled for choice when it comes to your palate like Indian, Chinese, French, Italian and of course traditional Irish restaurants all providing extensive menus. They will only be to pleased to advise you where to go.
Just up the street is the Selskar Abbey Tower making a perfect setting to understand the historical development of Wexford.
