On Friday we flew from KK to a place called Johor Baru which is just outside of Singapore, then hopped on a bus to the centre. It was all so easy - we are just not used to these uneventful journeys!
We stayed in an area of Singapore called little india and we have totally over indulged in curries these past few days! But they were so nice it would have been a sin not to! We even went to a place where you ate your curry off of a banana leaf - this was rather messy as you can imagine!!
The first day we spent doing a spot of sight seeing in central singapore - we walked along the waterfront and saw the opra house which sort of looks like a big piece of honeycomb, the famous Merlion spouting water from its mouth, various massive shopping malls one of which had a fountain of wealth where you had to walk around it 3 times and make a wish, and of course we finished off our afternoon sipping singapore slings in the long bar at Raffles hotel! Marvelous!
On saturday night we headed to chinatown (after failing to resist the urge for a curry first!) and it was so busy.
We took a trip to Singapore Zoo on Monday - probably one of the best Zoo's we've been to (and lets face it, we've been to a few this trip already!). We had a great time in Singapore and would have loved to have stayed longer - I'm sure we'll be back there one day!
We caught our flight to Perth on Monday evening and arrived at 3am. We checked into our hostel which is called the 'Witches Hat', not far from the centre of town. We've had a look around Perth today and a drink in a pub by the Swan river. We have also sorted a camper van for the next 2 weeks and its called 'Fluff'. It has a bed and a sink, pots & pans and stuff! So we start our road trip tomorrow! How exciting! Can't believe we are in Austrailia!!!
