Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia, and loving it so far.

Chacha

after two days of long and exhausting bus rides, crossing the border of Peru (literally just walked across like it was nothing), and being scared out of my mind on roads that were barely wide enough for a car, let alone a bus, I made it to Chachapoyas, Peru. A nice town, with a big square. Stayed in a $4/night hostal with the coldest ¨hot water¨ I´ve felt thus far. (Although after scalding my chest quite badly in the hot water of a previous hostal, it wasn´t so bad).

The next morning I woke up bright and early to go on a tour of Kuelap, a huge Pre-Incan fortress from the 9th century BC. It was amazing. Huuuuuge walls, still intact...beautiful bromelia flowers..a pit that was used for human sacrifices to For more information, go here: http://www.kuelapperu.com/kuelap/

My group was great: a hilarious guy from Liverpool, an Israeli couple, and a nice Peruvian lady from Long Island, who acted as translator the whole day (thank goodness). A beautiful sunset that evening, and then quickly hopped a night bus to Chiclayo, a town on the coast of Peru.
