The stuff that pretty much caused it all :)
Stressss in the early morning on The day I was leaving for Amsterdam.
Phonecall from Sri Lanka about the whole land deal and my mother’s health wich wasn’t all that well.. But the info is always just so vague so you never really know what to think of that or what to do with that.. okay so I was behind on schedule since I didnt expect them to call and they are kinda take their time.. So I was trying really hard to cut the conversation short hihi.. :) Okay well then just packed up all my stuff, I ran trough the house like a maniac, print the last papers and I was good to go.
Ante + Alcohol
Went from my town Uden to the Trainstation in the city of Oss. Where I met up with Stephan. From there we took the train and we would meet up with Mandy at the CS in Amsterdam. After some phonecalls we found each other and it just really nice to meet Mandy. Since were all very lazy none of us actually bothered to print out some info on how to get to the hostel! So we just took a taxi to get to the StayOkay Hostel near the Vondelpark where we would be staying. On arrival we found out that something was wrong with our reservation! Another thing that wasn’t a good sign.
. I mean we had the issue with Wayne and his passport, Fern getting sick so Hanie and Lauro had to find another way to get to the meetup (Those 2 things really had me stressed out!!) and my studygroup decreasing from 6 ppl into only 2 with our presentation set for Tuesday! And then on top of that there was something wrong with our reservation! The universe was sabbotaging this whole meetup! Lauro and I however decided later that all good things can be appreciated more if you had to suffer for it!! After waiting for 1.5 hours we were able to enter our room. Normal human beings would celebrate their arrivaling to Amsterdam, go explore the city, the what’s going in town.. but we just stayed in bed pretty much! Ofcourse we brought some alcohol and the relaxing turned into drinking pretty fast. Then I received a message from Ante asking us if we could meet him downstairs in the lobby. We managed to be late but that didnt matter since Ante was also late :).
It was really nice to meet Ante. We went back up to our room and did some more drinking and just had a good time. Or atleast I was having a good time but to me anything was funny at that point! We tried to play the drinking game “I have never..” but that turned out to be a no go since we had a philosopher partcipating so none of the questions were specific enough! (Wich reminds me of the imaginary campaing me and my colleague Joost from the restaurant had set up once called [B]e [M]ore [S]pecific, but that is totally out of place in this blog) So it was more just drinking then sticking to the rules! Us, the girls, drunk as we were, wanted to go out and dance! So we went out for a bit, we didn’t stay out that long I realised the day after but it just felt like we were out for hours! After that we all went back to the hostel and Ante also crashed in our room. We shared the upper half of a bunkbed wich was a lot of fun! Untill we were told to shut up by Stephan and Mandy Hihihi. I think everybody in the room had slept a little at the some point but I hadnt. Pffff way too much energy! I just waited for the morning to come!! Woeheoeoeoe Meetup day!
You can run but you cant hide Mandy..
