(GOOD GOD I AM SOOOOOOOOOOOOO TANNED, CAN YOU FIND ME IN THE DARK!!!!!!!!!!!)
As I got on the zodiac for the last time, it was ironic Eduardo was our zodiac driver. We started with Eduardo and it ended with Eduardo. However, Rogelio was on the boat with us instead of William in the beginning.
As I watched the xpedition get smaller and smaller. I was sad to feel I won’t see my beloved islands for a long time or ever. It was a sunny and cool day in paradise.
When we embarked the zodiac, my mum gave Eduardo a hug. We all clapped for him. They all did a great job keeping us safe In the waters. My mum will never forget Eduardo allowing her to steer the zodiac.
The entire naturalist escorted us to the airport. After all, they we be waiting for the next wave to passengers to enjoy and experience the Galapagos. The naturalist did a good job corralling us to where we need to go, from collecting our boarding passes and taking us to the VIP lounge.
We all hung out in the VIP lounge for an hour. The NY/LA Klan sat near the window.
The NY/LA Klan was already thinking about what they needed to do when they come back to reality. I was still and will be on a “GALAPAGOS HIGH” for a awhile.
I have met some much wonderful people on this cruise. The NY/LA Klan exchanged info, we all plan to meet up in the future. Since I live in VEGAS, I think everybody would rather visit me :D
The NY Klan has an interesting story. 3 families, all were in deck 5, and lived 5mins from each other. I took them to go below the equator to run into each other. they probably seen each other in the market or restaurant . NOW THEY WILL DEFINITELY MEET UP MORE.
We were the loudest of the 90, geeeez I am not surprised. You got NY/LA people getting together in one place, GOOD GOD!!!!! We all got a long so well.
The bartender, Oscar spoiled us. Oscar knew all of our orders before we even ask him. all I have to say is “my usual” and BAM my shot of vodka is served. Unfortunately, we found out Oscar got fired on DAY 8. We saw him hanging out near the port. Apparently, it was all politics and the captain let him go. Thank GOD I had enough money to give him his tip. The farewell party was tonight I was planning to give my tips. He was a good guy. We all saw him again in the airport in Baltra. He flew back to quito with us. He has his apartment there. The NY/LA Klan exchanges email addies with him. we all offered to give him a letter of recommendation the next time he applies for a job. He loved the Galapagos he will try to work in other cruise line. GOOD LUCK TO HIM :D
BTW!!!!! I DRANK FOR ALL MY BABs, LA TBs, VEGAS TBs, & YOU TOO JAMES (pearcetoyou) HAHAHAHA :P NEXT TIME I WILL PRINT UP THE INFAMOUS JOY'S (pvtjoy) "I DRINK TO YOU" CARDS" HAHAHAHA "HERE'S TO YOU ALL MY CA/VEGAS FAMILY :)
On DAY 9, William and Rogelio, the naturalists gave us the best compliment.
I wasn’t not surprised, I mean come on now. Out of the 90, 75% on it was over 60-80 year olds and more mobile than my mum, she admits it, she was embarrassed :D and 25% of us were 30 - 57 year olds and including 5 minors (10-16 year olds)
We were “shhhhhed” many times on the ship. GEEEEEZ we are in a ship TO HAVE FUN…..HELLOOOOO. After dinner in the bar, there would be 10 of us including a couple of naturalists. The rest was all in their cabins by 9pm or 10pm. GOOD GOD!!!!!! every day my bed time is 1am then wake up at 7am or 8am just in time to jump on the zodiac. mum and i would do the medium/low intensity level hikes. belive me we would work out our meal. mum and i lost some weight. my jeans were very loose when i got home.
I RECOMMNED THE "GALAPAGOS DIET", WHAT A LIFE ON A SHIP :P :P :P
I of course was taking advance of the ALL INCLUSIVE liquor.
There were other people that mum and I met as well but not as fun and loud HAHAHAHA. I talked to people from the UK, CANADA, BRAZIL, and the USA(RI, VA, AZ, FL, CT, MA, UT, ME, NV and WA. Mum and I was the only one from CA. Well, I still consider myself a CALI GIRL :D the couple from Vegas lives 10mins from my house.
This was an amazing trip, year by year the tourism in the Galapagos is controlled. Only about 100 a week are allowed to visit the islands. I heard Ecuador is planning to close the Galapagos for tourism in the future. I doubt it because it what will make it up of it? You got to export plenty of coffee, mangos, and chocolate HAHAHAHA. Then again, I would see plenty of poverty outside Quito that why doesn’t the help the poor?
The CELEBRITY XPEDITION tour is booked until 2012.
WE ARE THE LUCKY ONES…… MUM AND I DECIDED TO GO BACK TO MY BELOVED, GALAPAGOS ISLANDS ON OCTOBER 10 - 18 2009, DURING MATING SEASON HAHAHAHAHA :P
WOO HOO I can’t believe I will be back exactly one year from now. For me to go back to another that soon must be very SPECIAL TO ME :D The closest would be ALASKA. I went there in 2000 for the inside passage cruise and came back 2004 to do a land tour to Anchorage, Fairbanks, and Denali national park. I don’t count HAWAII because it’s like going to LA to me. it is so close that I can fly there any time I want. I have been to HAWAII 3 times, Oahu 1993, big island 2003, and Kauai 2005.
Since 2000, Alaska has been my #1 place to visit and considered moving there to do tours or work there. I never felt that way before until the Galapagos Islands. This my TOP 5 that i would go back more than once.
