Diamond Head Lighthouse Open House

Every year the US Coast Guard Admiral who is the Commander of the Pacific Region and lives in the Diamond Head Lighthouse has an open house for the public.  Guests can climb the stairs to get a unique view of Honolulu and the crystal clear waters off Oahu, Hawaii.  We enjoyed our tour and the views, plus we were able to find the beach where Jenny and her mother had thier photo taken in February 1969 with the Diamond Head Lighthouse in the background during Jenny's Father's leave during his first tour in Vietnam.  This has been a "famous" family photo and we were able to re-enact the setting with Jenny and her Mom while we were stationed on Oahu.

I had never seen a license plate from Antarctica, so I was certainly surprised to see one in Hawaii!  The Antarctica license plate was mounted above one from Hawaii on the US Coast Guard Admiral's Jeep who lives at the Diamond Head Lighthouse.  He has an open house annually and we visited this event since Jenny and her mom have a "famous" family photo of them by the Diamond Head Lighthouse in February 1969 when Jenny's Father was on leave from his first tour in Vietnam.  My goal is to visit all the continents, so I am looking forward to seeing if I can find another Antarctica license plate when I eventually visit the continent of Antarctica.
