My new good friends in front of their store
I'm heading home first thing in the morning. My plane leaves at 10:04am to new York, then to Baltimore. I did make some friends with the "Ladies of the night" buying them tea or coffee just to hear what life is like in their countries (Turkey, Iran, Uzbekistan, Russia, etc). Apparently they get scammed to make big money, a mamasan pays their way and they live in slavery for a few months to pay back a $6000 bill, then they're on their own and they keep their money from there out. It's sad women are selling the only things they have just for money. One girl lost her husband, father and mother in a single car accident and she found herself in Thailand doing this to pay her little sister's way through school. Sometimes you wonder if there is a God...why isn't the world more fair? She is an educated Registered Nurse (like me) but in her country, $300 a month doesn't cut it when she can make that in a day in Thailand.
I grab a cab and say "Airport". Goodbye Thailand! I stayed up all nightl, leaving at 7am for my 10am flight. I plan to sleep the whole way back and find the first 3 seats in a row before anyone else gets them so I can sleeeeep! (don't stop reading, I'm not done)!
