Koalas in Yanchep National Park

Yanchep National Park is only 50 km north of Perth. It is a great place to see Koalas. Inside the gardens right next to the park's buildings there must be close to 20 of these little guys.
Last time I visited they were all busy having a snooze... At least this time I got to see them as they were feeding and jumping from tree to tree. Some Eucalyptus branches are disposed by the Park rangers next to ground level where the visitors can have a good view on the koalas as they feast on the leaves. It was interesting to see all this activity. Even got to see a cute little joey with his mother, all the way up in the branches.
Just a friendly advice. While admiring these cute creatures, make sure there isn't one sitting right over you high up in the trees. You could be surprised by an unexpected shower, and might not find them so cute anymore... This nearly happened to me!
The park has a very nice lake with multiple trails around, and a popular picnic area where you can have a barbecue. They have Aboriginal experience shows in the afternoons and you can also visit Crystal Cave nearby. It is also a good place to see kangaroos, best viewed either in the early morning or late afternoon.
