Hey everyone, this will be a quickie because I am currently in the "Asshole of South Australia", at the Pink Roadhouse in Oodnadatta (look it up on the internet because they have a site!). I am surviving the outback!! Our little group is really multi-cultural - Slovakeins, German, Icelandic, Chinese, Australian and Dutch. There are 9 of us in total including the driver. It has been a bit challenging with all the personalities and basically spending 24/7 together in not the most ideal of conditions - 40 degree heat, flies galore (yes I am wearing a fly net over my head) but we have been having tonnes of fun. I almost feel like I'm on a reality TV show. There is also a little romance budding with the driver and one of the girls which kind of changes the dynamic a bit. The things we have been seeing are amazing - tonnes of wild kangaroos, emus, lizards and breathtaking landscapes and such. I haven't seen any dingos yet but they were in our camp the other night and I did see the 5600km dingo fence. I will tell you all more about it later when I have more time. We are just about to go take a swim in this local swimming pool to cool off a bit. We sleep under the stars (thousands it is amazing) in our swags. Tonight is new years eve so this will be a different way of spending it but we stocked up on the booze earlier today. I lost all 300+ photos on my new camera yesterday by accidentally reformating the memory card so I had a really good cry about that one...sucks big time but the group will share their photos with me.
Anyways hope you all have a good time ringing in 2007!
Probably won't be able to update until Alice Springs (though who would have thought I'd be able to update here??)
