Well this is my second trip to Western Europe. This is my buddy, Blake's, first trip to Europe ever! This one will be interesting cuz if we were filming this, it be a hella lot better than watching , Amazing Race, we're THAT bumblin funny, sadly....

A-Town, A-Dam, what-ever you call it, it's a Dam good town!

Hanky Panky Tattoo, where i had one done!

I really dont hide that this is one of my favorite placest to visit. i would never live here, too many tourists. Blake enjoyed being there too, which is why we came back here again after Dublin. Amsterdam is the type of placei can roam the streets, get lost , laugh about it and find my place again! Expensive, but do i enjoy every lil bit of it. Many europeans wonder why is there such a fascination among americans of going to Amsterdam...be like why do they Germans like going to Mallorca or Espana; always that belief one place is better than the place we come from. Sum truth some not...

ONTHAAL AAN HOLLAND!!!

We arrived to Amsterdam Centraal Station around 5 in the evening. It was crowded, people getting off work, going home. We quickly got out of the rush and exited outside! I think for everyone there is a certain 'magic' feeling when you visit Amsterdam. i was happy, excited as was my travel companion.

FINDING A HOTEL

We walked up and down the streets looking for a hotel. I knew I should have booked online!!! Which i suggest you do. We settled on the Singel Hotel. Nice hotel, very nice we had a suite with an excellant view of the canal and a kitchen but if i had known prior to that staying at a hostel was better..i couldve saved hundreds of Euros!!

Viva La Boca
My travel companion and I were walking the streets of Amsterdam as we have done for few nights now and I wanted to find something...different. something I have never had before and as I was pondering all this I looked up and saw across the street, a sign...actually a neon sign and it was for Argentine Steakhouse.

We went in, everything was cosy, I noticed there was no other customers in, only the waitress smoking near the kitchen, salsa music blaring. I liked the atmosphere. The decorations reminded me of the Southwest in america, which i have a deep respect for.

Nice, friendly and relaxed setting. The selection for Argentinean cuisuine had a variety, the Sangria is worth a pitcher or two! Our Hispanola hostess took care of us and even allowed us to smoke ( July 2008, supposely there will be NO SMOKING allowed in restaurants, bars).

This was my first time eating at a Argentinean restaurant and I liked it.

The interior was decorative, very similar to going to a Mexican restaurant back in the States. Clean, and they leave you alone until you need something. There is a orange house cat thats very friendly, he wants you to pet him while you're eating, not too annoying but he's well-behaved

Sit back and tour Amsterdam by canal
As a tourist in Amsterdam you can get the most out of your trip by taking the Canal Bus. Relaxing, enjoyable views, a true pleasure if you have been walking around the city by foot!

A Day pass is 18 euro, less for children. Check at the Canal Bus stop for whatever combined deal they are offering with the local museums.

When i took the tour for the first time, it was raining and me and my buddy picked the bus tour so we wouldnt get wet!

There are Three lines to choose from: Green, Red, and Blue. Green will show Central Station West, Anne Frank Huis, Rijksmuseum/ Van Gogh musuem, Leidsplein, Rembrandtplein along with Rembrandt Huis and ends at Central Station East.

Red--starts from Central Station East--ends CS West

Blue-- starts from CS East, Nemo, Passenger Terminal, Artis Zoo, Tropenmuseum, City Hall, Gassan Diamonds and ends back on CS East. This is the shortest tour
#1Best Dining Restaurant in Amsterdam
After a night of drinking, me and a buddy were hungry so after walking aimlessly around the Singel Centrum area we were staying at, I caught a glimpse of a Knight standing in a window. Like kids we stared into the window and next tried to figure out how to pronounce ' Vijff Vlieghen' in dutch and how to get inside the restaurant. To the right there is a alley and a overhang with the restaurant's name on there. There are no words to describe how under-dressed we were but with a 10 minute wait and no reservations we were treated with the upmost respect. This is a nice classy place, how funny we appeared, the 2 americans in jeans , the chick wearing a 'pot leaf' shirt, her companion showing off his newly finished tattoo. The food was pricey but soo good. And dessert was soo worth it and good. My dutch sucks no i cannot recall the names of what we order. Located on Singel 355, 1012 WK Amsterdam, Netherlands

Wow, that sure is an expensive place. I just happen to walk past that restaurant today, on our way back from the travel agency to the train station.
Glad you like Amsterdam, I lived all my life close to that city, and I still love it :))

A lil Hanky Panky won't hurt...after couple days
First off I wanna say if you want quality work of a Tattoo. Hanky Panky is the place to go. These guys are professionals but they like to have fun too!

The environment is relaxed unless Heavy Metal bothers you as the speakers are blaring, but if you been around Tat Shops, its how both you, the customer and the artist can concentrate on the artwork.

Hanky Panky is world famous, musicians, singers, sports players and soldiers ( like me) go there to get hooked up.

I took a design in and set up a appointment within 3 days and it was great. Me and my buddy both had tats done there during a week trip to Amsterdam.

The shop is clean, its like a step into a Freak Museum, the weird 'items' in formaldehyde jars...to include penis with balls, lol

One of my favorite tattoo shops in the World! These guys work with you on what u want, cuz its permanent...pricing is high but you're paying for the quality of the work. Check out the website, or go visit when in town in A-Dam

Avenue Hotel Amsterdam
I stayed at this hotel for 2 days, the first room was okay but the second one we had to move into was Hot! It was a studio apartment that was open and it was 128 EURO a night.

The hotel was safe, nice they had Heineken on tap in the Lobby. Breakfast was included and it was great!

I dont have much to complain about the hotel, there is a big sign outside the building that says 'Avenue'. The location is great because it is in walking distance from bars and it is only a 5 minute walk from Centraal Station.

Singel Hotel Amsterdam
I liked this hotel, I recall that I stayed in a suite March 2008 and there was a kitchenette, a couch, and a great view of the canal.

The room had the basics, even a mini-bar but we were never in the room much ( we wouldve been better off at a hostel) especially with what we paid for the room.

The hotel staff were very friendly and this place is only 5-10 minutes away from the Centraal Station
