TOUCH DOWN BUENOS AIRES!

This blog details my trip leading to my cruise of the Antarctic Peninsula aboard The Clipper Adventurer in February 2008. This concludes my trip to all the continents - completed five years, four months, and one day since stepping out of the Philippines for the first time. A life goal completed.

TOUCH DOWN BUENOS AIRES!

25 hours after departing KL (and 1-hour stop overs in Joburg and Cape Town) MH201 finally landed at Ezeiza Ministro Pistarini in Buenos Aires at 216PM, February 13, 2008.

The sky was a perfect blue and the sun was all out. The sweltering heat embraced me as soon as I exited the airport. The exact opposite case when I first touched down in Ezeiza back in June 2007. Back then, it was raining and chilly, the vibe was totally dark and gloomy.

I wasn't able to send out blog entries in Joburg and Cape Town as I couldn't get any internet access in the transit areas.

I've checked in at the Kempinski Park Plaza Hotel just a few minutes ago and logged-in immediately.

Funny thing happened while I was at the checking in at the front desk. Radio music was playing at the front-desk and it was the instrumental version of Jose Mari Chan's "Beautiful Girl" which made me smile - NOT THAT I THOUGHT THE SONG WAS FOR ME! I meant what are the odds of that sort of stuff happening a continent away. I remember a Thai taxi driver telling me that the song played on the radio station station was Christian Bautista's.

TO ALL THE FILIPINO/FIL-XXX(fill in nationality here), can anyone confirm if Beautiful Girl was an OPM (Original Pilipino Music) or was it lifted from somehwere else which may explain why I got to listen to it one bright and sunny February afternoon in Buenos Aires.

Time for a power nap. Meeting my Fil-Am friend Ed and his Argentine friends later for dinner and drinks.
