T minus 45 minutes to Board MS Clipper Adventure

Ushuaia Travel Blog › entry 10 of 19 › view trip summary

This blog details my trip leading to my cruise of the Antarctic Peninsula aboard The Clipper Adventurer in February 2008. This concludes my trip to all the continents - completed five years, four months, and one day since stepping out of the Philippines for the first time. A life goal completed.

T minus 45 minutes to Board MS Clipper Adventure

I was beginning to wonder if I will ever bump into any other Filipino on my third day here in Fin Del Mundo - Ushuaia, Argentina.

Again, the Filipino diaspora was not to disappoint.

On my way to kill about 2.5 hours before we board the MS Clipper Adventure, I wandered along the main street in Ushuaia, Avenida San Martin. As I walking I heard several people talking in Filipino, mostly men, likely working for the cruise ships plying the South Atlantic, South Pacific cruising route. As I headed for this big internet cafe, more familiar words, faces and voices. There were  35 terminals in all and I swear at one point there were more than 12 of us Filipinos tapping away at our keyboards.

Time to go. Will edit this blog later.

Will try to send a blog entry from the ship. If ít´s not to expensive to log into the internet.

Otherwise, my next entry will not be until March 1, 2008.
