Day 2 - Back in Krakow

I arrived back in Krakow mid-afternoon & decided to head back to the Old Town Square. I went into St Mary's Church where a scene in Schindler's List had been filmed. It was stunning! It is famous for having the biggest alter in Europe which tells the story of the Virgin Mary. The colours were beautiful as well as the craftsman ship of the staues & 3D (for want of a better word) pictures on the wall.
Feeling quite peckish, I spotted a pizza place where I had my dinner & I have to say it was some of the best pizza I'd ever had! I don't know if this happens anywhere else but they served the pizza with the base & the topping only with a dish of the tomato sauce on the side.
After dinner I wanted to go to the Jewish Quarter so I decided to go in one of the buggies I had seen around the square. It was so much fun! There was a driver who was very friendly but it was a recorded voice that would be my tour guide. I saw some of the Synagogues', part of the old getto wall & Oscar Schindler's Factory. Apparently, they are currently turning the factory into a museum but it wasn't finished when I was there.
Back in the Old Town Square I had spotted an Irish Pub the night before so thinking I would possibly find some Brits there, I went in. It was indeed filled with familiar accents so I went to the bar & then sat at a table. After a few minutes an American gentleman introduced himself & about 5 minutes later I had met the Landlord & his friends & free shots were appearing in front of me. It was great fun meeting these people & finding out their reasons for being in Krakow & at kick out time I was invited to go to a late night bar. Being slightly tipsy at this point I can not recall the name of the place we went to but I met more people from Australia, America & Britain & had a great night with a bunch of strangers. Thankfully having a good sense of direction, I made it back to my hotel, at goodness knows what time, feeling that I never wanted to leave Krakow.
