Because there are riots in Oaxaca and strikes as there will be president elections we took another travelroute. It's a pitty though because we will miss beautiful sights in Oaxaca but safety first. We will travel first to Vera Cruz a nice town situated at the Gulf of Mexico. It's a six hour drive and when we were getting into the bus I wondered why the young guy helped the older driver get the suitcases into the bus. It turned out that the older driver stays in Mexico City and the young driver will drive us to the east coast. Well what are you doing while driving in six hours to Vera Cruz. Well first of all enjoying the landscape and the first impressions outside of Mexico City, listening to some music, read something about the country you're traveling through etc etc. After a long drive we arrived at Vera Cruz, and checked into a hotel which was ok. It would be for only one night. Vera Cruz is the place where the Spanish came ashore. Nowadays it's a nice harbourplace with a long boulevard which is nice to walk. You can eat fish fresh out of the ocean. That evening we had enchiladas with a Mexican cacao sauce and red snapper. We had a delicious dinner with other people of the group. After this long travelday, which was nothing compared to the traveldays we had at the end of the trip, we decided to get a good night sleep :-)
