Little Cabin in the Woods...er, on the Lake

We finally found a place to rent for the trip on Lake Lure. I wanted a "cabin in the woods" but this was cheap, available and ended up being great. Untill the last 36 hours...but more on that later!
We took our time getting to North Carolina that day. However, we were travelling in good ol' Blue Van #6, and I ended up car sick, as did several of the girls. And I NEVER get car sick! Boo! We finally got to Hendersonville, and tride to find lunch. We wanted to go to Three Chopt, but it was closed, as was Piggy's! So we ate at Atlanta Bread Company.
After lunch, we had the obligatory "fiasco" that is an understood requirement of all trips with Scott. He was determined to find Jump Off Rock in Hendersonville before it got dark so we could show the kids. Well, we partly blame Garmon for bad directions, but Scott wouldn't give it up! We wound around and around the mountain, encountering 45-degree inclines, dropoffs, and generally made everyone car sick...again. We were afraid the van would go off the side of the mountain. Finally, after about an hour, we convinced him to give up.
It was dark by the time we drove to the cabin, so we didn't get a good look at the area of Chimney Rock and Lake Lure.
The cabin was nice, and had plenty of room, and there was a Kroeger's nearby so we could get firewood and grocceries.
That evening, we watched a John Piper video and discussed that. Heather and Rachel finally got there and we all had time in the hot tub!
