Starting out in Puerto Princessa, the nice and relatively calm capital of Palawan. It's a nice place to adjust (if needed) to the more tropical circumstances of the island. The city itself offers some nice attractions, like the market and the museum. The surroundings offer also beautiful views on rice terraces, the ocean etc.
Taytay was our jump of point to El Nido, where we decided to stay two days extra (mostly because of our lovely accomodation "Casa Rosa"), to wander around. The fortress, the harbour area and the houses on stils were very nice.
El Nido is the best place to venture out in the surrounding lagunes for snorkling. Miniloc for example. Amazing! Several uninhabitated islands, deserted beaches to have lunch, beautiful rock islands...It's a must see!!
Port Barton also offers some beautiful snorkel sights, but also a boattrip up river is highly recommended!
Last but not least Sabang. It has changed a lot since my first time there (way more touristy). It's a shame, but then again it is the starting point for a visit to the underground river. I would recommend to do one of the hiking trails (Monkey trail (easy) or Jungle trail (moderate)) to the river, both are beautiful but it depends on the tides whether you can do the Monkey trail. The underground river itself is stunning (beware of the makakes outside the cave). One tip, keep your mouth closed if you look up inside ;-))
