Getting into Saudi Arabia

What could this be i wonder:) Oh yes a camel...

Leaving Bahrain heading to the boarder of Saudi on the bridge. My daughter and I had to go with my dad into the customs where my dad had to speak to the guy behind the counter. He had to explain that we were family and were just visiting for a short period of time. One should think it was fairly easy and a simple procedure but no it wasn't at all. He was friendly enough but still the only way for me to enter the country was if i was married and in the end i was "married" to my dad acording to the papers entering Saudi hahahaha The good thing about my surname is that if you take away the circle over the A in the norwegian alphabet it looks like an arabic name. Actually the capital of Jordan only with one M LOL So i was no longer a "single mum with a child" hahaha Not exactly how i planed it but to make things smooth sure as long as it was the only way for me to enter the country.

In Al-Kobhar my mum took me around the area and to the shopping mal. I must admit before going to the mall i was thinking it was a small run down place with nothing to look at especially the music stores. Oh boy how wrong could one be, the music choice was much much better here then at home so i must have spent way too much money on buying music LOL i might have looked like i was smuggeling music leaving the country hahaha

I was introduced to the best bread with cheese ever oh my it was gorgeous and probably not very good for you in the long run but who cares when it tastes so good. My daughter was 1,5 years at the time and for here it was paradise. They were very friendly thowards children and she got free samples here and there.

In a Lebanese sweet shop we got to bring with us a small paper bag with different types of cookies if i can call it that. I am sure a Lebanese would correct me there and please  feel free too do so since i'm not sure what they are called. Still, that would never happen here at home in Norway. No way anyone gives anything away for free here hahaha. She got free ice-cream, a free sweet red pepper and i almost wished i was that age too LOL.....Still, like in Bahrain the Arabic men here too followed you at a distance, i am wondering why they did that since its not like they're getting anything out of it. If they were practising for undercover school they were doing a very bad job hahaha

I had two very odd experiences there while walking with my daughter.

One of them were a car driving slowly on the road next to us walking on the pavement. I wasn't looking at first since i usually ignore silly stuff like that, but he kept it up so i had a look at him and you will not believe what he was doing...he was actually playing with himself while looking at us ...what an idiot..well in that situation i figured it would just be better to pretend like nothing and just keep on walking which i did hahaha..The other uncomfortable thing was a bunch of young boys driving around in a car smoking cigaretts and flipping the cigaretts thowards us and almost hit my daughter with it..These were the only two things i wasn't happy about but no harm done...:)
