More snorkeling, the worst day ever, and Marina Cay

No Horizon (and Virginia)

Today we woke up early so we could snorkel around the corner from the bay where we were moored before sailing all day to Marina Cay.  We dingyed over and everyone jumped right in, hoping the water was warmer than the morning air (it was, somewhat).

We ended up seeing lots of cool stuff this morning, including a ray!  The lighting, however, wasn't that great since the sun wasn't really shining too much yet, so we didn't get too many excellent pictures.

Then we all piled back into the dinghy (always an adventure, but we're getting better at it) and got back to No Horizon in no time.  We got her in ship-shape and headed for Marina Cay!

The trip ended up being a complete nightmare with horrible stormy weather accompanied by driving rain and waves at least 6 feet high.

It was completely miserable.  We couldn't go in the cabin or it would just make us sicker faster.  We couldn't get away from the rain, because, well, it was raining and we were outdoors!  We did have a canopy cover, but that doesn't help at all when there's wind driving the rain under the canopy.  We had foul weather gear (enough for a few of us, anyway) and that didn't help either, because we got wet enough the the rain just ran down our skin under the raincoats, etc.  Did I mention that it was miserable?  I got completely sea sick and just sat with my head down near my knees, shaking with cold as well.  Jessica and Virginia did pretty much the same.  Virginia actually lost her cookies off the back at one point, and a seat coushion too while she was at it.

.. lol.  Well, no one was going in after it in that weather and those waves...

The guys all stood around like macho men, pretending they weren't affected, or rather keeping their minds off of it by making fun of us ladies.  I heard it all from what seemed like a far away place, a prison of suffering... lol.  Anyway, as we we sailing into Marina Cay (we could start to see it in the near distance) the sun came out like magic!  I should have been happy, but instead I was annoyed that it had the nerve to show it's face after hiding when we needed it the most!  Haha... anyway...
