We flew from Orlando to Puerto Rico on a big plane - one of the ones that has two seats on each side, then an aisle, and then like 5 or 6 seats across the middle.  From the gate in Puerto Rico, after our layover, we took a little bus outside to the part of the airstrip where our little plane was - one with propellers!  And only 2 seats on each side with one aisle.  We had to climb stairs to get in, and the engine sounded like it was going to explode.  :)

Anyway, after the flights, we ended up on Beef Island and after clearing customs in a tiny little airport we took a minivan/taxi that had been arranged by the Moorings Yacht Club (where our sailboat was waiting).

The drivers there, including our taxi driver, tend to drive down the middle of the road until they see someone else coming along and then they switch over to their lane at the last minute.  This can be a hair raising experience when going around tight turns through the mountains with no shoulder on one side and the mountain on the other!  Our poor little minivan almost didn't make it up one of the inclines, either.  But all in all it was a fun experience, and it was nice to look out over the gorgeous Caribbean when it would appear around the turns!

When we got to the yacht club we had a few hours to kill before the rest of our party arrived, so we went shopping at the little convenience store for essential liquids which had been taken from us at the Orlando airport when they refused to check our baggage.

After a couple hours of waiting in the check-in area, one of the staff ladies took pity on us and let us go onto the boat early, even without Uncle Greg there to sign all the papers.  :)

Our boat, No Horizon, was a 51-footer with 5 cabins (4 off the main galley area, 1 V-berth up front which we used for luggage storage).  The cabins each had queen beds and a little bathroom.

About 5 minutes after we got to the boat, the rest of everybody showed up!  We got reaquainted and went to dinner at the yacht club, because we were all starving after hours of travel.  Then we stayed up on the deck of the boat in the little seating area, hanging out and talking till late.
