Short stopover in Milan

So I was hoping I could do two things while in Milan for an hour and a half. One was find gelato and the other to find some pasta. I walked around the train station (the area wouldn't quite make guide book recommendations for a place a tourist should visit). It was one of the more sketchy train station areas and smelled like garbage and urine. Finally I found a place to get pasta (really crappy pasta) and no where for gelato.
