Our last supper at the PP

So apparently you can't take a ferry from Greece to Croatia. Instead, you ferry to Italy and then to Croatia. After saying goodbye to all the people I met at the Pink Palace, I sadly left last night with a group of five others all heading to Italy. Our ferry was from Corfu to Brindisi and left at 12:30am.

Since we're all backpacking and cheap, we got "deck" seats which means an airplane type seat (aka not condusive to sleeping). We wandered around the boat looking for somewhere more comfortable to sleep. I shared this u-shaped couch, sleeping with my head next to some strange guy's feet. Obviously not my most classy sleeping spot on the trip, but it did the job.

We arrived at Brindisi (pretty much the bottom of Italy's boot) at 7:30am.

From there Craig (aussie guy I met at the PP) were on the same train heading north. I got on the wrong train and had that pointed out by a non-English speaking conductor in a train car with no one else that speaks English. After some crazy hand motions, I understood I had to change trains in Bari. Once I was on the new train, I found Craig again so I had some company for the 6 hour train ride.

The south of Italy was hot and sunny this morning and as I headed north, it got progressively more and more cloudy and now I'm in Ancona in the rain. I knew I shouldn't have left the PP!! :)  I'm going to try to catch a ferry at 9pm to Split, Croatia that gets me there around 7am. Two back to back night ferries ... what am I thinking!?

PS - I'm already starting to go through withdrawal!
