Third Bidwell Park trip
We started at Bear Hole today - the part we left off on last time. Huge, strange-looking rocks! We found our way across the rocks, succeeded in avoiding getting drenched, and hiked the other side of the creek. We didn't take a trail, but walked along the edge of the 'cliffs'.
We came across an old stone wall and took way too many pictures of it. :) But it was cool! I wondered how long it had been there, but there was no one to tell me...
The creek canyon seemed to get deeper and deeper as we went along. Some of the rocks making up the sides/cliffs were incredibly huge. The path we were forging for ourselves was tedious, but the views were completely gorgeous and worth it. I only wish we could capture them on our camera! There's just no way to do it - part of what's so cool is the 'bigness' of it all, which just can't be contained.
When we decided to turn around, we stopped and ate lunch in a little wooded area. I kept thinking of my family, who would all love it up here! Heading back was a lot easier, as we stuck to the regular pathway. Then it was back across the rocks/creek.
After a quick walk along the 'other side' (where we had started), we headed home.
