We were so excited about arriving to Machu Picchu and were just crossing our fingers it wouldn't be cloudy, so we can enjoy the sunrise ;)
After having our last breakfast together, we left the campside around 4:30am! It was still dark, so we were carrying flashlights. We started walking to the Inti Punku (Sun Door) at 2,780 m.a.s.l. We were lucky and it wasn't cloudy! We enjoyed an amazing view of Machu Picchu and the Huayna Picchu during the sunrise. That feeling was so good! Just with that wonderful view you forget about how hard the Inca Trail was. :)
There are no enough words to describe Machu Picchu. I would say that it was breathless. We went inside Machu Picchu and Maria showed us around explaining everything about the city. We were tired about walking, but being there made us forget about how tired we were. Once we were ready we went to Aguas Calientes.
There are hot springs, restaurants and a market. It was time to say good bye. Well, actually it was just See You Later. We agreed meeting the next day in Cusco city. Matt and me had lunch and took the train back to the city. Instead of driving the whole time with the train, we stopped in Ollantaytambo and then took a bus. This way was faster.
We arrived to my aunts house. First of all I took a warm shower and then slept like a baby in a soft bed. Mmmm. At night I was ready to go out. We went to "Centro Qosqo", also included in the Cusco Ticket to see some dances. After that we went for a couple of drinks.
