Tampa Florida 25hr train trip to NYC to see snow. How to spend almost no money, have a great time, make new friends. Train leaves in only 10 hours is it too early to get to the station?

1st Day in NYC

Started walking at 9:45am walked till 4:30pm, not real sure where I was, but it was nice being there.  Forget to eat lunch only stoped twice to get a drink, shopped like never before.  Got back to the Hotel without getting lost or having to ask for directions, male ego intact, ordered food delivered. Going to to post some pics some, soak my feet, go to bed.  The subway is next.

Just an Old School Bar nothing fancy, a place to go to for the reasons
people have been going to bars since day one, to get a drink, have a
bit of talk or not with friends & or strangers.
Ran into a business man playing hooky from work, had a couple of drinks as we discussed with Tatyana the barmaid from Spain the Allman Brothers back in the good old days when a concert lasted more than 90 minutes & didn’t cost an arm & a leg to get into.

I was there for only about an hour, but it was a great memory of NYC.
