My roommate and I took four days in September to make another trip up to Chicago for my birthday weekend.

This time, instead of driving the entire 8 hour trip, we drove the 3.5 hours to St. Louis and then took the Megabus from St. Louis to Chicago.  It's fairly inexpensive (if you book super far in advance you can get tickets for as low as a dollar.... we booked two weeks before and ours were $15 each way), clean, and a lot less stressful since you don't have to worry about finding parking in Chicago (which can be a huge pain).

While there, we were able to snag $25 tickets to Wicked (why can't I get the photo to upload?!?! Why?!?!) in the lottery the Oriental Theatre holds 2 hours before the show and were about five rows from the front.

Woohoo!   We also went to a sketch comedy show called, "Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind" which was... interesting. It was good, but not amazing.

The food, however, rocked my world. We probably spent more on food than anything else.  We love Orange, the best breakfast/brunch place ever.  We also went to an organic brunch restaurant called Tweet, which might be my second favorite brunch ever. ha.  We had to get some amazing deep dish pizza at Giordanos and also made it to the Creparie, an adorable french crepe restaurant.

I could probably say that we walked all that food off though... even though Chicago's public transporation is awesome, we still did a ton of walking, especially when we walked down Michigan Avenue on our first day and decided to follow the shoreline down to Millenium Park, not realizing just how far that would be (seriously, wear good walking shoes... my flops were a bad idea, as were Mel's not-broken-in skechers).

And since this blog is entirely too scatty and unorganized, I'm going to leave it the way it is for now and post the rest some other time when I can make more sense.  ha.
