Saturday:

I arrived in Byron Bay at 8:00ish in the morning and there was a guy with a green surfboard from the Byron Bay YHA who was waiting for the people staying there to show us to the hostel. There was 3 of us and the walk to the hostel was about 5 minutes maybe, super close. We did have to chill out and wait until 10am to check in though, but from the looks of this place so far its awesome! Like a little paradise with a pool and everything. At 10 I went to my room and had a shower and whatever. In the bathroom I met 2 girls from Toronto and then ended up going to the beach with them, they were really nice. The beach was sweet, there were tons of people there, there was some sort of life saving competition or whatever there.

I tanned a bit and then Auri, a girl I met on the bus came and met us and we decided to leave and get some food and then went to Woolworths and i bought some groceries. I pretty much live off shitty Home Brand from Woolworths, as does everyone haha. I went back and chilled at the hostel and then met some Europeans there, a girl and a guy from Holland and a Swedish guy who all met at surf camp, I hung out with them for a bit and also met an american girl named Karen. We hung out on the deck and then the 2 Canadian girls came up and had some goon...:S The Europeans left and had dinner at a crappy bar named Cheeky Monkeys and I stayed and chatted to Shawna and Iris for a bit then we headed over to Cheeky Monkeys, it was kind of a crappy place and we didnt stay long. We wandered around for a bit more, I wanted to go the Beach hotel so we went there but the line up to get in was massive so we just went back.

On my way back I ran into Emily, Nicks friend I met in Sydney and chatted to her for a bit and then went back to the hostel.

Sunday:

I went to the beach today with Matt, Tobias and Marjolien at about 11:30 and went boogie boarding and swimming, the guys went surfing but the waves were pretty shitty they didn't get much action there. Then 2 of their Swiss friends they met earlier came. It was a very multicultural beach. Matt and Tobias taught them how to surf on the sand, which was hilarious..then they went out and tried it. At 2ish we decided to have some lunch in the town. This place is awesome! Its so cute, I like it heaps more than Sydney, its great. We had lunch at the Hogs Breath Cafe which was decent.

Afterwards we went to Baskin Robbins for ice cream, it was so good...reminded me of DQ ice cream. We split up and then went back to the hostel, had a shower and whatnot. I made myself pasta with no sauce...delicious. It actually was alright. There was also a little pizza partay at the hostel for $5 but I didn't have any...well Matt stole me a piece. We didn't really want to go to a bar or anything so we just headed to the beach where we met up with the Swiss people and later a Canadian girl from Trail, Justine, and a Norwegian girl, Christine, came too. I got along really well with Justine, she was super nice. We're actually all going to Surfers Paradise on Tuesday! Should be fun. After chilling on the grass near the beach we decided to wander around the town, see what was happening.
the multicultural group!
It was really fun actually, so many different cultures together. 2 Canadians, an American, 2 Dutch, 1 Swede, 1 Norwegian, 2 Swiss. I think thats it? It was cool though.

Monday:

Me, Marjolien, Matt, and Tobias went kayaking today! It cost $60 and you get to kayak with dolphins! The tour left at 8:00am and we got picked up at our hostel. We got down to the beach and met everyone on the tour and got our life jackets and helmets on and off we went! I had never kayaked before but it was really fun, I loved it. We saw a ton of dolphins, which was sweet. Half way through we went on shore and had afternoon tea and tim tams. Then we went back out for a bit and on our way back rode some waves. But they were really intense waves and me and Tobias got flipped over but it was so fun. And the leaders of the tour were really cute haha.

Good times. Now I am back here updating my blog. Got some subway too. Yum. I just booked a place for the 4 of us in Surfers for tomorrow so that should be fun! Tonight I think we're all going to the Beach Hotel, I hear its really fun so I'm pretty excited! So we did go to the beach hotel haha. First we went to Cheeky Monkeys and Kristina and Justine got food and we had some beer and I also ran into Michelle and Clare, 2 girls I met in Melbourne on Aussie day! So that was awesome and we made plans to meet up later. We all went to the Beach Hotel after and there werent a ton of people there as it was a Monday night, but it still seemed really nice and we had a few beers and chatted. There were quite a lot of use there, like 10 or 15 at least I think. Clare and Michelle joined us later and we stayed there for a bit and then I met up with these 2 girls from Melbourne that took us to this other bar because Beach Hotel closed at 12! So a big mob of us went over there for a bit but it was really dead and smelled like throw up slash diapers. So we didnt stay long, went to get a kebab and then called it a night, especially since we had to wake up semi-early tomorrow.
