via Aphrodisias to Pamukkale

Today was a long drive day to go from Kudasasi to Pamukkale today. On the way, we made a short stop at a small village and photographed the locals. It was really colorful with markets full of people in ethnic clothings, we all wished we could have stayed for hours!

Then we had lunch at a restaurant obviously catering to tour groups, but the food was pretty good, and the settings pleasant. Next we stopped at Aphrodisias for only 1 hour. It was scorching hot mid-afternoon, and a lot of us opted not to walk in the heat to see the large stadium which was very impressive from the photos of those that did go there. I just tried to stay cool in the shade and photographed many faces of the marble heads which adorn the sarcophagi at the site, then went into the museum, whose rooms were obviously not in the sun, but still pretty hot.
