It will do! Don't go where you are not supposed to.
Euro Plaza Hotel, on a big street bordering the never-never land our local guide told us strongly not to venture into! That's the north western direction. If you cross the street you are at the UK embassy, and beyond that the pedestrian street Istiklai which is fine and lots of places to eat, see and do for a non-local. Within easy walking distance you can go to the Galata Tower too.
Hotel has a small pool, and the glass elevator overlooks the pool as we go up or down. Beyond the pool is the local streets our guide told us not to go. Especially any establishments with neon lights, he said people would get charged thousands for a drink and be in great trouble. Interesting to hear that from a local guide?
Anyway, the hotel is adequate, nothing to write home about.
