Landed at Heathrow airport in London, where we transferred to another BA flight to Zurich
Terminal 5 at London Heathrow airport was the newest terminal which went into service this year. There were some horror stories about big luggage fiascos, where so much luggage were piled up they had to bulk ship them to Milan Itlay to sort them! And what's the chance of getting your luggage back? So we were apprehensive about having to go through Terminal 5. But at least our flight in was on time. When we got off the airplane, we followed the signs to connecting flights (but no displays with flight information) downstairs to the tram. At the platform there was a display saying if you are on such and such flgith, do not get on the tram. So we got on the tram because those were not our flights. We took this tram called "Heidi", and on the way, the Heidi girl was displayed outside the windows and she waved at us with smiles! Then we went up several levles again and through security. The were many lines for the security, of course we ended up at the slowest line. About 10 minutes later, we were through and emerged into a big shopping center like space. There were shops as far as your eyes can see, and the gates were sort of lost in the mass of shops. Our gate was boarding when we arrived, so we went onto the airplane. There were nobody else on board! But people did show up and with a final seat switching with the family of 4 with a baby behind us at the last moment we were off. I just hope our luggage made it too.
