Palic lake- it is relax-time
My birthday!!
And my sister taking me on weekend trip to Palic. Two days in hotel "Jezero" ("Lake"), yeeepie!!!
We take bus from Belgrade, and if you do that be shure that it takes highway; on other way you will spend 5 more hours crosing Vojvodina by old roud from village to village.
Palic is name of pitoresque village and lake. It is located 8 km from Subotica, northest city of Serbia, just 20 km from Hungarian border.
Lake Palić lies between the Danube and Tisa rivers. It is 7 km long and average depth is 2 m. The first spa bath was built in 1845 and that year is considered to be the beginning of the tourism at Palic. You will find many old buildings from that time. First of all "Zenski Strand" (Women's Beach) dated from 1912. It was custom to ladies be separated from the gentlemen on the beaches.
And of course, ZOO. It is not very rich with animals, but it's interesting because the only animals that are in the cages are tigers and some birds. Everyone else look just like in natural enviroment.
