Old granary
January 3, 2008
Getting up in the morning gives a nice surprise the room is almost warm - not quite warm - but considering the location it is a lot warmer than I would have expected. The sun is still not up but it is getting there and we leave the lodge to go to an old Berber village which got a forty fight old granary.
The big granary in this town was used by the locals staying in the nearby villages and in case of an enemy approaching they could close the door to the granary and protect it easily.
Each family would have one or two rooms in the granary which would contain there usual storage of different kind of crops for the winter. And in the courtyard would be a market where you could sell or buy supplies.
