The billions of people crowding Oxford Street.
My friend Jessica, who I stayed with in Edinburgh, came to visit me this weekend and she, Nathan, Nathan's friend Gwen and I made our way to Oxford Street today. They had closed off both Oxford Street and Regent Street for a declared day of Christmas shopping. There were million bajillion people there, and none of us bought anything, but we watched the street performers and the fake snow, and I complained about being cold as per usual.

I wanted Jessica to be able to see more of the city before we went home, so I navigated us through to Trafalgar Square, where we ate biscuits on the lions. That was a great moment... a very "Here I am in London, with these three other people who've come far away from home to study in the UK as well, and we're sitting together eating biscuits on this lion.... that's happy."

Then we walked down to the Thames, and all the way up it to the Tower Bridge. It was a very long, but peaceful walk. And my new boots survived this day of walking without making my feet hurt very much!

Then we went home and got Chinese take-out, and Jessica and I stayed up until 4 AM freaking out about life together. I felt like I was 13, but it was fabulous.
