Cate, Nathan, and Sarah looking at hats in Camden Town.
I told some of my friends last night that I wanted to go into the city
today, and they said we should check out Camden and the markets there.
I'd heard it was pretty cool, and it was. I think I have a problem with
thinking that everywhere I go is going to be like it was at some point
in the past.... Like, with this, I know that Camden has a history of
being important to British rock music. Yes, there were scattered music
venues, and a good handful of legitamtely old school record stores, but
most of what lined the streets were punk clothing and accessories of a
much newer age. Basically, it looks like Hot Topic vomited all over
England, and Camden is the result. It was still fun to walk around...
lots and lots of shoe stores, cheap (quality, not price) clothing,
studded belts and long socks, buttons, etc., but not what I'd expected.
We stopped to eat Chinese food, since I've heard from everyone and
their mother about how if you want to eat cheaply in London
, you need
to get Chinese food. The food was
cheap, but wasn't amazing. At least there were enough carbs in it to
make us feel full. I've heard it's more exciting on the weekends, so
maybe if I go back, Camden will be able to redeem itself.
