Last Day of Riding

Soca River Gorge. Best picture showing the turqouise waters that were common throughout this region. Have never seen water quite this color before.

Ride - Day 10 (May 28), Bovec, Slovenia to Tolmin, Slovenia (van transfer to Piran, Slovenia)

37.5km (23.5 miles)

A short, easy day of riding for our last day in the saddle.  Continuing down the Soca river valley on a gradual descent most of the way to Tolmin.  Saw groups of kayakers and rafters out on the turquoise colored river (another reason to come back to Slovenia at some point in the future).  A break in Kobarid to visit the WWI museum there was an intersting but sobering experience, especially in light of current world events.  After the museum continued down to Tolmin.  Had a few small hills thrown in riding along the valley just so we wouldn't forget the high country we had just come from.  Entering Tolmin we saw some parasail-ers out in the skies and fields along our route and just like that Klara was leading us into a parking lot where Renata had our lunch waiting for us.
