This is on the Mavericks contest weekend event on Jan, 11-14 2008. Hiked up the hills to see the spectacle. This was near Mavericks on Saturday and Sunday morning. Waves height reached 30 feet on the sets.

Most  pictures were taken Sunday morning and few on Saturday.   Shots were taken with a high zoom lens, sorry about the quality but quality suffers when you zoom to this range.  Waves were breaking about a mile out from the beach off the coast in Marin County.  I went up to the Marin Headlands and was awed but this show.  It reminded me of the Cortez Bank in LA (see Riding with Giants) great movie.
