Christian took and was driving to Auvergne through the Puy-en-Velay and could eventually leave us on the way to the highway heading south from Clermont.
But as the day was well entamed, it seemed obvious that we wouldnt make it further afterwards as it would be dark by arrival. So he invited us over for the night and for dinner which was really great and we accepted.
We stopped on the way in le Puy-en-Velay to look at the churches on top of the rock cliffs and it was impressive. We made plan of buying an old truck and drive the world... just a thought plan.
Then later by nightfall indeed we arrived at Christian's place after having had the chance to drive on the scenic road by dusk.
Christian had invited his son over to bring some food and his girlfriend, to talk and have a meal. He also called the neighbours and nearly everyone arrived at the same time.
So from his place we got observe a castle on top of a rocky mountain overviewing the deep vallee down... great!
We were slightly exhaust but we spent the evening, chatting, playing music and having a great social moment. Then the food was on the table... several pizzas and some spaghetti plus local wine. It was all so tasty!
It went like till somehow late and then we all went away to sleep.
