What a better place for starting a big Journey of 3 weeks of honeymoon?
After running to the airport to catch a 3 hour flight to
…we arrived early in the morning to Hong Kong airport, where after a couple hours we catched the ferry to
The sailing took 45 min in a freezing cold room…but we slept also J we’re such sleepy heads.
Going thru the customs took us almost an hour..as there we’re dozens of Chinese people crossing to
And it gets better..! we didn’t know how we would get into town to our Hotel, but soon found out that there are free shuttles from the airport to all the casinos…and as we’re staying at the Lisboa Casino Hotel, we got into one of the shuttles…
I must say we we’re the only ones carrying backpacks J and anoying everyone on that tiny bus..
We got to the Lisboa Casino Hotel, a landmark set in the heart of Macau, and checked in there (I had pre-booked this one, as I didn’t feel like looking for accommodation after such a long trip..).
It had a great atmosphere…with the casino feeling, the hookers going up and down hall ways, people walking fast, the jewelry stores, the restaurants, the many corridors where you could easily get lost…NEAT!!
Our room was nice with a window to the bathroom.
We left right away to visit
We headed to the center, the Leal Senado to take a overview of the city and for some lunch ...as we wanted to get in the spirit of the place, we had lunch at a Great Cantonese Restaurant righyt in the center..: "Long Kei". it was in our LP guide, that's how we found out about it..
We we're the only "tourists" there...and everybody was looking at us :) They brought us a long list (it must have had like 12 pages..) all in Chinese... :| oh boy.
We order 4 plates (very cheap!!) and guy looked at us like saying..."are you sure?" none spoke english..
The first thing that came to the table was Boiled garlic... and then some stir vegetables, panned fish (this was good!!), shrimp with bambu... and some more stuff i really can't remember... :) But yummi!
Let me say, that the people around us we're staring at us...it seemed that we're eating a weird combination of dishes...i really dunno...
From there we went back to the hotel for some sleep...we're really tired from the trip and the heat was killing us...
After some sleep, it was dinner time...and after the disaster of lunch, we decided for some Portuguese Cuisine :) ok, you can blame us...but we're really hungry and needed some food..."Bacalhau" and a "Bitoque with an egg on top" , some wine and olives, sounded and tasted great! yeah..i know...travel all the way to the other sideof the world and have an everyday dish....tss tss..well, but it tasted wonderful...and it was cheap..
and it was fun to watch Chinese eating our food...we had some fun!
After that, we strolled around a little bit and visited some of the busiest casinos...amazing places..with hundreds of people...and some "ladies.."... The neons of the several buildings at night are amazing...it seemed like Vegas (even though i was never there... :) )
We went back to Lisboa Casino hotel for some sleep..jet lag was starting to kill us :(
