A meeting of travbuddies in SF
January 12, 2008
Mark (travel727) got a list of all the attendees at the Jade Bar tonight, I think we had almost 40 people there!
My husband Kevin and I and our friends Ed and Susan (also travbuddies) arrived at the Jade Bar a little after 5:30, and as expected, Ekua, Roger, Judy and Mark were there already! We had no problem recognizing each other and started to talk, order drinks and eat!
It was wonderful to finally meet Roger (X_drive), Judy and Mark, Ekua and all the other travbuddies! I enjoyed talking to Will and another Will, Jay, Amit, meeting Rowena, Teresa, Lynn, Erin, Laurie, Leah, and so many more. Thanks to Ekua for organizing the meetup, and people coming from Kansas (Yeah Mark! how was the red-eye getting back?), Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Diego, Visalia and all around the bay area! It was amazing.
The Jade Bar was green, as can be seen in the photos. It was dark and we couldn't see the wall color until a phot was taken!
We saw a setting crescent moon over the coastal hills as we went south toward the 280, it was a a beautiful sight, just a glimpse really, and no photo was taken as I was driving. (Puppies were fine and asleep when we got home.)
