This morning we had flapjacks for breakfast (very similar to sopapillas) at the Trek Stop restaurant. The rest of the morning we read, Jon taught me how to play Euchre (card game), and then we talked with other guests. We met a nice older man from Illinois who winters here at the Trek Stop every year. We also met a friendly couple from Minnesota. A couple hours later we made sandwiches for lunch and then went for a lesiurely stroll along the Mopan river. The water was so inviting that we decided to stop and swim in the river for awhile.

On the way back to the Trek Stop stopped at butcher shop to check out the prices for meat in Belize- and we were shocked. Only $4/lb BZ [$2/lb US] for t-bone steak and filet mignon. Wow! Taking advantage of the terrific prices we made plans to buy some meat to marinate for dinner on Friday.

Back at the Trek Stop we showered to get off the river grime and then I enjoyed afternoon nap in the hammock and listened to the sounds of the rainforest animals.

We ate pasta at the Trek Stop restaurant for dinner and then got to talking with the couple from Minnesota. Turns out they love Euchre so we played a game with them before heading to bed.

Thus ended the slowest moving day since we've been here and quite possibly in my whole life.
