Toronto Travel Blog › entry 5 of 42 › view trip summary

The first part of our trip will be North America. We fly to Toronto on 13th Jan, and travel anti-clockwise, stopping at various places on the way. We fly from New York back to the UK on the 9th May! Of course this is just a plan. It is quite likely that one of us will break a leg/get stuck in snow/fall down a waterfall, possibly even on the way to Gatwick. We will aim to update at least once a week, so keep checking to see what trouble we are in!! ***See Lisa's Blog (/LMTaylor)***

The new wing of the Royal Ontario Museum
What do you do when the wind chill is causing it to be -22? Honestly I have never felt cold like it, it feels like someone is slapping your face. The rest of my body is fine, but there is only so much of your face you can cover! I actually got an ice cream headache walking to the museum yesterday. Had a look at the forecast for Montreal and it's even colder, lows of -28 *shiver*

The museum was good, sort of like the Natural History in London, except $20. The queue to get in was huge, probably because of the weather and the new dinosaur exhibition. We spent about 3 hours in there and probably only saw half of it, so didn't feel so bad for spending the money! We were planning on visiting Niagara today but some people in our dorm went yesterday and said that it was just too cold, and the cheap bus ticket meant you had to spend 5 hours there! They were not impressed. We think we will visit when we get to New York, apparantly you can cross the bridge and still see it from the Canadian side.

Tomorrow we head off to Montreal which we are told is a really vibrant city. One week has really been enough in Toronto and although it's a great city, we feel like it is time to see somewhere new.
