Europe´s Sin City

Just like its American counterpart, Amsterdam is Europe´s Sin City. A lot of people come in on the weekends just to party. I can understand why. In the main city center, are of course, coffee shops and the Red Light District. I, of course participated in all that goodness. From buying Diesel and G-13 and getting way high, to even spending a night with a window walker (felt it was way too touristy, not a good value and way expensive. Another €50 for on top? Fuck that ). But all that sinful pleasure is just one side of the coin that is Amsterdam. There´s charming shops farther out from the center. For instance I brought a new sketchbook made from recycled paper and bound in old leather. There´s the Anne Frank musuem where you can enter the apartment she hid in. I didnt go inside due to the line and price of admission, but being outside was still impressive. Even more impressive is Van Gogh´s musuem. It houses some of his lesser known works, and even some more well know ones (crows in the wheatfield...i think thats the name), and drawings and sketches by the great artist himself. It´s a quite extensive collection of all his works. I was especially psyched because he´s one of my top top fav artist and he was a leading colorist of his time. There´s also quaint neighborhoods surrounding the center. To the left is the neighborhood of Lagoon (again i suck at spelling and will correct at a later date). It has rows of houses with little centers every so often. It was very gorgious. You got the feeling this was what Amsterdam was all about and not just the weed, hash, and prostitution.
